Tranquil Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I need help?

Most people don’t have relatives living close by to lend a helping hand.  Family relationships may also be uncomfortable for the new parents.  New dads are going to be tired too and need help.

What does a postpartum doula  do?

The postpartum doula supports the new family with encouragement, information, infant care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, running errands, sibling care, a shoulder to lean on, or a warm cup of tea.  She never gives  medical advice.

How many hours does she provide?

The postpartum doula will work with you to assess your needs. Average time is 3-4 hours, 2-3 days a week.

What about cost?

Hourly rates will vary  according to experience and your needs.
